Leggings that stay up: how to choose the right pair
Few things disrupt a training session as much as leggings that slide down. The solution rarely lies in tightening harder. It lies in the construction. Leggings that stay up are built around a waistband that does the job without you having to think about it.
Why leggings slide down
The most common causes are a waistband that is too low or too weak, a fabric without enough recovery, or the wrong size. When the waistband lacks structure, it loses its grip as soon as the body moves, and then the leggings start to travel. A thin, over-stretched fabric gives the same result: it does not hold.

What actually keeps the leggings in place
A high, wide waistband distributes the pressure over a larger area and lies stable against the body. Together with a fabric that has good compression and quick recovery, this creates a grip that stays through squats, running and long days. High-waist leggings are therefore usually the right choice if you want to avoid adjusting. If you want to read more about how the fit should feel, we have a guide to how training leggings should fit.
Choose the right size
Leggings that should shape and hold should sit close, but not cut in. A fabric with a holding structure can feel tighter at first try and still be exactly right in movement. If you are between sizes, work from how the piece sits over the waist and hip, not just how it feels the first second.

Frequently asked questions
Why do my training leggings slide down?
Most often because of a waistband that is too low or weak, a fabric without recovery, or the wrong size.
Which waist holds best?
A high, wide waistband in a fabric with good compression. It lies stable and does not travel in movement.
Do leggings have to be tight to stay up?
No. They should sit close and firm, but not cut in. It is the construction, not the tightness, that keeps them in place.
The right pair you do not think about during the session. It stays where you put it, from warm-up to the last exercise. Anything but ordinary.
