Women's activewear in recycled fabric

Recycled fabric has gone from exception to expectation in the premium segment. But for women's activewear in recycled fabric, it is not enough that the fibre has the right origin. The garment also has to keep its shape, support and feel over time. Otherwise sustainability is just a word on the label.

What recycled fabric actually means

Most recycled training fabrics are made from recycled polyester, often from PET bottles or offcuts from textile production. The fibre is broken down and spun into new yarn. The advantage is clear: less new raw material and less waste. But the quality is decided by how the yarn is knitted and constructed, not by the raw material itself. A well-made recycled fabric gives the same density, recovery and smooth surface as newly produced. A poorer one can feel thin and lose its spring quickly.

Sustainability is about the whole lifespan

The most sustainable garment is often the one you use the longest. A pair of sculpting training tights in recycled fabric that keeps its fit and colour after a hundred washes does more good than a cheaper pair replaced every season. That is why we weigh material choice against construction: dense knitting, good recovery and seams that hold. Durable design and a premium feel are not opposites, they depend on each other.

Where Wallderinska uses recycled fabric

Our training collections are made from almost entirely recycled polyester. That goes for tights, tops and jackets meant to withstand movement, sweat and repeated washing. Lifestyle and everyday garments follow other material choices and do not carry the same claim, we keep the sustainability promise where it actually applies.

How to care for recycled training clothes

Wash at 30 degrees, avoid fabric softener and tumble drying and turn the garment inside out. That spares both the fibre and the sculpting fit. Less washing, lower temperature and air drying extend the lifespan more than anything else.

Common questions

Is activewear in recycled fabric worse in quality?
No, not when the construction holds. A well-knitted recycled fabric gives the same density and recovery as newly produced.

Which Wallderinska garments are made in recycled fabric?
The training collections, meaning tights, tops and jackets, in almost entirely recycled polyester. See all training clothes.

How do I make my training clothes more sustainable?
Use them for a long time. Wash cool and rarely, avoid the tumble dryer and choose garments that hold their shape over time.

Recycled fabric only becomes the better choice once the garment lasts. Then environmental responsibility and a premium feel become the same thing. Anything but ordinary.
