Workout tanks for women: sculpting seams or a clean cut?

A tank is the simplest piece in the wardrobe and the one that most often goes wrong. Too short, too loose, a back that chafes under the bra strap. We have been sewing workout tanks since 2013, and most of the styles build on the same idea: seams and panels that shape the waist, instead of only covering it. Here is how to choose.

What makes a workout tank sculpting?

The contrast panels at the sides. A darker or lighter panel along the side draws the eye inwards and makes the waist look narrower, without the fabric being tighter. The seams that follow the panel give a little more support over the stomach at the same time. Slimline Sculpting Tank Dark Grey is the clearest example: dark grey base, light panels, red piping. Slimline Sculpting Workout Tank in black and Slimline Sculpting Tank in black and grey do the same with gold piping.

Goldline or Slimline?

Goldline is black with gold, Slimline is panels with piping. Goldline Black Workout Tank and Goldline Black Workout Tank G1 have sculpting lines that define waist and stomach, gold piping and a look that has been with us since 2013 and 2014. Goldline Navy and Silverline Navy are the same construction in navy, with gold and silver respectively. Choose Goldline if you wear Goldline leggings, Slimline if you wear Slimline. If you mix, it is the colour of the piping that should match.

Is there a tank without panels?

Yes. Iconic Workout Tank Silver is black with a silver metallic print, a supple fit and no panels. It is the tank for you who want shine instead of lines, and it goes as well with jeans as with Iconic Silver Leggings. It runs small, choose one size up.

Which back suits which training?

Racerback for anything where the arms go above the head: strength, climbing, yoga. Silverline Navy has a narrow racerback that gives the shoulders full freedom of movement. Slimline Light Grey has a back that gives full freedom of movement. For running and walking the back matters less, there the fabric decides: all our tanks are moisture-wicking and quick-drying, and several are sewn in Swedish-made performance fabric.

Which tank with which leggings?

Same line with same line is never wrong. Goldline Black with Goldline Black Sculpting Tights. Slimline Dark Grey with Slimline Capri. If you want to break it up: a black tank goes with every pair of leggings we make, and a navy tank with black leggings is the combination that looks most considered.

Which size should you choose?

Your usual for Goldline and Slimline, they sit close to the body without pulling. Iconic Silver: one size up. Sizes from XXS to XXL depending on the style.
